About ShedSpace

ShedSpace is three practice tools for musicians who practice on their own time: a logger that runs in any browser, an app with a metronome, a drone and a real drummer, and the same tools as plugins for the Darkglass Anagram pedal.

They are separate products with separate purchases. Nothing syncs between them. Pick the one that fits where you practice, or use all three.

The three products

ShedSpace Practice Logger

A web app. Any browser, on your phone, iPad or laptop, with one login on all of them.

Everything you work on is an item. The chart, the backing track and the Spotify or YouTube link live on it, so they are open when the timer starts. Every session lands on the calendar with what you did and how long it took, and reports show the time by category, item and week. A curated library from working musicians and teachers gives you items to start from.

$9 a month or $90 a year. 7 days free, no card needed.

ShedSpace app

iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android.

A metronome, a drone and Pocket, a drummer recorded on a real kit at several tempos. All three run on one clock, so you set a tempo once and everything follows it. It does not log sessions. It is the sound in the room while you practice.

$9.99 a year or $29.99 once. 7 days free, no card.

ShedSpace for Darkglass Anagram

Two plugins inside the Darkglass Anagram multi-effects pedal, for bass and guitar players.

ShedSpace is the metronome and the drone. ShedPocket is Pocket's drums with the drone. Both live in the signal chain, so you practice with time and pitch under your fingers and no phone on the music stand.

On the Darkglass Anagram Marketplace. Requires the pedal.

Why it exists

The logger came first. Clay Johnston built it because he could not keep his own practice organized: the chart in one folder, the backing track in another tab, the notes in a notes app, and no record of what he had worked on last month. ShedSpace puts all of it on the item and keeps the record.

The app and the Darkglass Anagram plugins came from the same practice room. A metronome, a drone and a drummer are the sound you practice to, and they belong where you play: on the phone on the stand, or inside the pedal under your feet.

Who makes it

ShedSpace is made by Sprung Interactive LLC. Clay answers support himself at support@shedspaceapp.com. The curated library is built with the musicians and teachers on the contributors page. Pocket's grooves were played by session drummer Robin Hatterschide.
